All I can hear swirling inside my head is ‘Green Onions’ by Booker T & The MGs while riding this trusty ol’ rusty. It’s my bike on loan from my sweet as pie landlord. The bike squeaks, rattles and shakes. She’s got charm and an old school dynamo (I believe that is what it is called… the silver cylindrical device (i.e. generator consisting of a coil (the armature) that rotates between the poles of an electromagnet (the field magnet) causing a current to flow in the armature)).
Man, how cool. You can see it on the front wheel in the picture. It is attached to the fork and juts out just so far to then make contact with the wheel. In theory the dynamo converts mechanical energy (me biking) into electrical energy, which in turn powers the bicycle’s headlamp.
Unfortunately, none of it works. :/
